Many people do not have full insurance coverage and some have no coverage at all. If this is the case, there
are two main options: deferred payment plans with the Health System and/or other sources of financial
assistance depending on your ability to meet eligibility requirements.

The telephone, no longer a luxury item in today's society, is a lifeline of communication. When times are tough,
the phone becomes especially important-as we wait for a call back from a potential employer or receive words
of encouragement from a friend.
Because no one should be without phone service, two federal programs exist to provide consumer discounts
on telephone service:
- Lifeline - provides qualified consumers with a discount on monthly charges
for their primary home phone line, even if it's a cell phone.
- Link-Up - lowers the cost eligible consumers pay for setting up new phone
service at their home, including cell phone service.
Contact your local telephone company to make sure that you qualify for these benefits in your
state and to request an application form.
If your local telephone company is not authorized to provide Lifeline or Link-Up discounts in
your area, contact your state public utility commission or consumer advocate office to locate
an authorized service provider.
