Workshops are offered with no fee for cancer patients and their families.
All supplies are provided unless noted in the description.
No prior art experience is necessary.
December 16 - Doll making
Participants will use material, yarns, beads and additional objects to create a Wish Doll.
No workshop in January
February 17 - Abstract Watercolor Painting
In this workshop participants will experiment with watercolor paints to create abstract paintings that can be used for collage and weaving projects.
March 17 - Weaving Amulet Pouches
Using small cardboard looms participants will create small amulet bags. An amulet is described as an object that protects a person from trouble and consists of any object intended to bring good luck and/or protection to its owner.
April 21 - Weaving Techniques for Small Cardboard Looms
Cardboard looms will be used to create small mug rugs while learning several weaving techniques.
May 19 - Creating Shrines
Shrines serve as a way to use symbols and images to honor, remember, heal, attract, express and/or explore personal experiences. Bring images and objects you might like to incorporate into a shrine.
No art experience is necessary! All art materials will be provided.

Please join local weavers Marion Marzolf and Georgia Gleason as they share their expertise with Cancer Center patients and families. Anyone is welcome to try the weaving.
