2004 Candle Lighting for Hope and Remembrance

	More than two hundred people gathered under the front entrance canopy of the Cancer Center for the annual Candle Lighting for Hope and Remembrance on October 1.
	Many of the Cancer Center faculty and staff took part in the ceremony whose theme for 2004 was We Remember Them.
	A video — Feeling Their Presence/Remembering Their Spirit — featured memorial photos pre-submitted by families and friends.
	The U-M Cancer Center's music therapist coordinated the evening's music.
	The evening culminated with the lighting of candles to honor the memory of lives lost to cancer.
	The Chenille Sisters performed the song To Miss Someone written by Cheryl Dawdy (left) in memory of her mother.
	In the comfort of the evening, people shared their grief and celebrated the lives of their loved ones.
Carnations of Hope were given to all audience members as they left the event.
