Prevention Research

Cancer is fundamentally a genetic disease, occuring when the basic machinery of our cells goes awry, either from an inherited genetic defect or an environmental trigger

According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer can be caused by many different factors and sometimes takes years to develop. Therefore, making healty choices in terms of diet and exercise, or limiting exposure to certain environmental factors that have been linked to cancer (such as smoking) helps prevent the development of cancer.
