Candlelighting opens

2002 Candle Lighting

More than 450 people attended the Candle Lighting for Hope and Remembrance held on September 27 under the front entrance canopy of the U-M Cancer Center.

The event featured poetry readings, musical selections and reflections by bereaved family members and cancer survivors.

Attendees placed Life Mementos on tables in front of the stage.

Lights of Hope, luminaries created by Cancer Center patients and staff, decorated the area. Attendees placed Life Mementos on tables in front of the stage.

The mementos were a celebration of the lives of cancer survivors and those lost to the disease.
