U-M's Breast Oncology Program selected as beneficiary of televised shoe sale-added 8/13/10Ann Arbor -Shoe purchases made during an annual televised breast cancer fund-raiser will warm the hearts and soles of shoppers while supporting cancer research at the University of Michigan. QVC and the Fashion Footwear Association of New York are once again teaming up to host QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale®," a televised charitable shoe sale benefiting breast cancer research and education programs. The 17th annual event is scheduled to air live on QVC on Friday, Oct. 15 from 7-10 p.m. ET. A portion of the event's net proceeds are earmarked for the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Oncology Program - one of eight programs nationwide selected as this year's beneficiaries. Viewers will be able to purchase shoes offered at half the manufacturer's suggested retail price during the event, selecting from more than 100,000 pairs of shoes. Those looking to get a head start on their shoe shopping can visit the QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" website available on QVC.com and browse through a special selection of shoes available for purchase ahead of the broadcast. U-M's Breast Oncology Program has received $3.3 million from this event since 2001.
