Dr. Lisa Newman, Breast Cancer Global Outreach

Dr. Newman is a surgical oncologist, professor of Surgery and director of the Breast Care Center for the University of Michigan. Her research has a focus on triple negative breast cancer in African-American women. Global outreach is a big part of her research. In Ghana, Africa, she treats women with breast cancer and collects information to bring back here. By better understanding the disease in African women, Dr. Newman hopes to be able to improve treatment options for all women with triple-negative breast cancer.
