A Message from Our Director

Max S. Wicha, M.D.

Thank you for visiting our website. Over a million people come here each month for information on preventing, diagnosing, treating and living with cancer. We hope you've found both insight and hope here. If you're considering making a donation to the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center, we thank you for that as well. We've made giving as easy as possible with numerous choices, including our simple, secure on-line giving option.

One of the benefits of on-line communications is the ability to make vast amounts of information easily accessible. It just might be the best vantage point to see everything that's happening at the U-M Cancer Center.

At any given moment, something extraordinary happens here. It is said that in our clinics we fight cancer one patient at a time, and in our labs we have the potential to help millions. Success on both fronts is critical to fulfilling our mission: the conquest of cancer through innovation and collaboration.

Donors are a vital component in that collaboration. So if you have supported us in the past, we thank you. And whether you are considering a continuing gift or a first-time contribution, I hope our website will confirm that your gift to the U-M Cancer Center will indeed make a profound difference in the conquest of cancer. We can't do it without you.

Max S. Wicha, M.D.
Distinguished Professor of Oncology
Director, University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
