Assistance to patients and their families totaled $98,480. A graph depicting the services provided to patients and their families from The Helping Hands Fund during the 2010-2011 fiscal year is included above right.

Unfortunately, the economic climate remains challenging in the State of Michigan and resources from The Helping Hands Fund are still critical to the financial stability of cancer patients and their families. On behalf of those who benefit from this fund at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, thank you for providing critical financial assistance to cancer patients with the greatest need.

Assistance to patients and their families totaled $98,480.

"There is no way we could have stayed in Ann Arbor for four extra months without the gift of money to pay our apartment rent. We are so grateful."
~~Chuck B. from Ludington, MI

"We could not pay our rent for two months, as my disability check was messed up. Thanks for your help! You saved us from getting an eviction notice."
~~Rick C.'s wife & two teenage sons

I almost thought I would not have a transplant because I did not have money for apartment rent in Ann Arbor. I was not going to use money that was needed for my wife and two little girls to pay their rent at home. My two sisters are my caregivers in Ann Arbor so my wife can stay at home with the girls. Thanks for the help!"
~~Tim from the Upper Peninsula
