Treatment

Treatment of prostate cancer needs to be individualized.

Decisions regarding treatment options are often based on the disease stage and grade, Gleason score, pre-treatment prostate specific antigen (PSA), and rate PSA rise, as well as the patient's age and life expectancy. In particular, the presence or absence of other significant medical problems is of greater importance than chronologic age.

Treatment Types

Please note the above web pages discuss treatment options based on the clinical stage of prostate cancer.
