You will be asked to arrive at the center 30 to 45 minutes prior to your procedure. This allows the physicians and nurses time to prepare for your procedure. One adult may be with you in the surgical area during the preoperative and recovery times. This may change due to patient needs at the time of your procedure.Parking: Check-In: The check in desk is located on the ground floor of the Cancer Center next to Radiology. One adult may be with you in the recovery area, unless patient care needs require otherwise. The amount of time you will spend in recovery varies, depending on the type of operation, the anesthetic used, and your medical history. Before you are discharged, you will:
If you are going home after your operation, you MUST have a responsible adult companion drive you home. You cannot drive yourself home after your operation. A bus or cab is NOT acceptable, unless someone is with you. It is recommended that a responsible adult remain with you for 24 hours after your surgery. |
