The Clinic

The Multidisciplinary Sarcoma Clinic relies on the Comprehensive Cancer Center building collaborative approach in treating soft tissue and bone sarcomas. "Sarcoma" is a term used to describe a whole family of cancers that arise in the body's connective tissues, which include fat, muscle, blood vessels, deep skin tissues, nerves, bones and cartilage.

Why come here for your diagnosis / treatment?

The highly qualified staff consists of two medical oncologists, a surgical oncologist, an orthopedic oncologist and a radiation oncologist. You will be referred to one of these staff members depending on where you are at in your diagnosis process.

The Clinic offers patients:

  • the expertise of the Sarcoma Conference for consensus treatment decisions
  • discussion of the team’s recommendations with the patient and family
  • access to state-of-the-art surgical techniques, standard and investigational therapies
  • an opportunity to meet with an information specialist, dietitian and/or social worker to discuss concerns or special needs
  • comprehensive patient education materials
