Home > Cancer and Treatments > Pancreatic Cancer > Research > Past and Current Research Projects Transforming Growth FactorβTransforming Growth Factorβ- (TGFβ) is an important cytokine involved in the regulation of growth, differentiation and apoptosis in a wide variety of cell types. We have shown that TGFβ- Smad signaling crosstalking with Protein Kinase A (PKA) regulates cell growth in pancreatic acinar cells with cAMP independent mechanism. Our interesting is to investigate the role of TGFβ signaling in pancreatic diseases including pancreatitis and pancreatic tumors. Currently we are mapping molecular interaction site between Smad4 and PKA. |
