WE ARE MOVING!
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, the clinic will move to Reception B, Level B1 of the Cancer Center.

Being diagnosed with any form of cancer is life-altering. Being diagnosed with a rare cancer makes it even more bewildering. In general, the most common types of thyroid cancer are very treatable and have excellent long-term prognoses. It is very rare to die from thyroid cancer. Rates of thyroid cancer have increased over the past several years and U-M physicians serve on committees that develop national guidelines for care.

The Multidisciplinary Thyroid Cancer Clinic provides patients:

  • access to state-of-the-art standard and investigational therapies
  • expertise of the Multidisciplinary Endocrine Oncology Tumor Board for consensus treatment recommendations
  • rapid reports to primary care and referring physicians
  • an opportunity to meet with a dietitian to discuss concerns or special needs

  • an opportunity to meet with a cancer genetic counselors to discuss any genetic abnormalities
  • comprehensive patient education materials
  • individual and family support through support groups, social workers and psychiatrists
  • access to the U-M Cancer Center Patient and Family Support Services program
