For your visit you may be seen by Dr. Junck. It may be handled in part by a resident physician or
fellow; if so, you will also see Dr. Junck. A nurse practitioner may also assist in your evaluations.
The doctors will take a detailed history. Neurologic
examination may include testing of your memory, vision, facial movements, strength, coordination, sensation,
and walking. Your scans will be reviewed and the findings discussed with you. The doctors will do their best
to summarize your current situation and answer any questions you may have.
It is possible that the physicians may delay reaching their final recommendations until they receive additional information or discuss your situation with other physicians. It is possible that your physician will want to discuss your case at the Brain Tumor Board, which takes place on Friday morning, before giving final treatment recommendations. The length of time required for your visit is difficult to predict. As a general rule, for your iniitial visit, we recommend that you plan 2-3 hours, and, for a return visit, 1½ to 2 hours.
