Undertaking Innovative Cancer Research

More than 365 University of Michigan faculty maintain membership in the Cancer Center representing 44 departments across 12 U-M schools. The members are required to have an active practice in the clinical care of patients and/or collaborate in basic, clinical, or population research. Our cancer researchers receive more funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) than do researchers from any other medical school in the country - a testament to the world-class caliber and lifesaving potential of their work. The Cancer Center's research portfolio consists of 5 basic science research programs, 5 clinical research programs, 2 prevention and control programs and 10 developing programs: pancreatic physicians consulting
