Undertaking Innovative Research

More than 400 U-M faculty maintain membership in the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center, requiring both an active practice in the clinical care of cancer patients and collaboration in research.

pancreatic physicians consulting The U-M Cancer Center ranked third in the nation in grant funding received from the National Cancer Institute in 2007. Its researchers receive about $79.5 million in grants each year from the National Institutes of Health and other agencies.

The Cancer Center's research portfolio consists of five Basic Science Research Programs, 11 Clinical Research Programs and two Prevention and Control Research Programs:
