Body & Soul

body and soul image Body & Soul is a health initiative to encourage congregations to eat more fruits and vegetables. This program is based on solid research, which includes four pillars:
  • Pillar I -Pastoral Involvement
  • Pillar II -Activities that promote healthy eating
  • Pillar III -A church environment that promotes healthy eating,
  • Pillar IV -Peer counseling that motivates church member to eat a healthy diet

Initially developed as a pilot program in collaboration with the ACS, the University of Michigan, University of North Carolina and the National Cancer Institute, its success as an evidenced-based program paved the way for Body & Soul to be implemented by partners across the nation.

Dia de la Familia

Dia de la Familia is a family-focused event for Latinos in Washtenaw County. The event features free health screenings, entertainment, food, community partner booths and resources that address mental, physical and social health issues in the Latino community.

Dia de la Mujer Latina

Dia de la Mujer Latina image Dia de la Mujer Latina is a one-day, interactive health fair targeted to Latina women and their families in Washtenaw County. The annual event features free screenings, information booth and resources that address significant health issues in the Latino community.
