In addition to providing written materials in the PERC, targeted training in the Skills Lab and access to the latest information from U-M and around the world via the Cancer AnswerLine and this web site, the Cancer Center also hosts numerous seminars and events on topics of particular relevance to our patients and their families. Regular afternoon and evening events held in the Cancer Center allow interested individuals to hear from experts in a variety of disciplines, from nutrition to psychology to complementary therapies to disease-specific treatment approaches. Special sessions for family members are offered as well to help improve coping and communication skills and teach useful techniques including hand and foot massage, relaxation and stress reduction.
