Complementary Therapies Program

To take a more active role in their own cancer treatment and recovery, many patients add non-medical complementary and creative therapies to their treatment plans. Whether looking to boost the effectiveness of treatment, reduce the unpleasant side effects or address the emotional impact of cancer, the Cancer Center's Complementary Therapies program offers a wealth of tools to help both the patient and the family:

Complementary therapies are coordinated with your medical treatment. The Patient and Family Support Services staff is part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. They work with each patient's medical care specialists to make sure the patient pursues activities that are appropriate for his or her individual needs. Patients and their families are encouraged to take advantage of complementary therapy services at the Cancer Center. Some programs are offered free of charge, while others are available for a small fee. To discuss complementary therapy options, contact Patient Support Services at 734-615-4012.
