Other Amenities

The following services are provided not only to U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center patients and families, but those seeking treatment at the U-M Health System.

Care Pages | ATM / Cashier's Office |  Nichols Arboretum | Patient Relations | Pharmacy

CarePages

The U-M Health System and CarePages have partnered to help patients use the web to communicate with friends and family while hospitalized. This free service lets patients set up a unique web page for themselves, family members or friends who are hospitalized at University Hospital.

This page can be used to:

  • Post and receive updates on the patient's condition
  • Post and receive messages for the patient -- and each other -- regardless of time and geographic location
  • Share patient information -- CarePages are personal and secure
  • Order gifts and make donations -- links to online retailers make it easier to purchase flowers or gifts or make charitable donations in the patient's name.

As a special service for Cancer Center patients, CarePages can be initiated or updated at the computers located at the Patient Education Resource Center (PERC) in the Cancer Center or in any of the public lounges of the cancer inpatient units in University Hospital.

To learn more about CarePages, visit their web site or visit the PERC on level B1 of the Cancer Center for an online tour.

The Hospital's Cashier's Office is located on level 2 of University Hospital. Hours are 7:30am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. There is an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) located in University Hospital, Level 2, near the Hospital Cashier's Office.

Nichols Arboretum

The Arboretum is a 123 acre "living museum" nestled in the hills adjacent to the U-M Medical Campus. Within easy walking distance of the Cancer Center, it offers a place to escape and enjoy a beautiful, natural setting along the Huron River.

Visit the Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum web site for more information.

Friends Meditation Garden

In addition to the Nichols Arboretum, the U-M Health System is pleased to offer the Friends Meditation Garden. The garden was specifically designed to provide an outdoor space of comfort and respite for patients, visitors and staff. It is located on the western side of the Hospital's Courtyard.

Read more about it here.
