There is Peace in Darkness

November, 2007 to January, 2008

Artist: Peg McPhee Gordon's biography lighthouse photo;

"I was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia on December 8, 2006. I was hospitalized from December 20, 2006 until January 10, 2007 for my cancer, pneumonia and being Pancytopenia. (A shortage of all types of blood cells, including red and white blood cells as well as platelets.) My partner Pat(ricia) Gordon of 13 years stayed every night with me. She has made numerous sacrifices to help take care of me and I know it's because of how much she loves me.

My partner Pat, our two teens Janet and Elliot and myself have been very worried about my health insurance for the year 2008. I am 43 years old and I am unable to go back to my previous work because of my cancer. I have also aged inside by 10 to 20 years and have developed other diseases which make me disabled.

Photography has been my way to express myself artistically. The photos I chose say what I feel I cannot say in words. There are many emotions one goes through and through my photos I hope to show those emotions even if it is abstractly.

While I was in the hospital my former partner Maureen McGee, a pilot was killed along with a nurse en route to pick up a patient because of icing of the wings of the plane. I have dedicated this gallery to Maureen McGee."
