Breast Wellness Clinic

Comprehensive Cancer Center building The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Wellness Clinic provides coordinated mammography and clinical breast examination for women who have had a diagnosis of breast cancer and have completed their treatments at the U-M, or are at increased risk for developing breast cancer.

The clinic director, Anne Schott, M.D., oversees a team of nurse practitioners who provide breast examinations and counseling. The nurse practitioners regularly examine and evaluate patients in the Breast Cancer Clinic and the Diagnostic Breast Care Center, and have extensive education and training in breast care.

Services:

  • a comprehensive breast examination

  • mammography screening by expert radiologists

  • prompt referral to a U-M breast care physician specialist when abnormalities are detected

  • discussion with a nurse practitioner on topics of importance - after treatment screening and management of side effects or complications, menopausal symptoms, cancer prevention, cancer screening methods, lymphedema prevention and management of osteoporosis

  • a written summary of the visit sent to your primary care physician and/or referring physician
