Father's Day is around the corner. Give the men in your life the best present: the gift
of health. Encourage them to be tested for prostate cancer.
The facts are simple. If you are:
- A man 50 or older
- A man who is 40 or older with a family history of prostate cancer
- A man who is 40 or older and African American
Get tested.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. One in six men will develop
prostate cancer at some point in their lives. But it can be cured, if it's detected early.
This disease has no symptoms at its earliest stages. That's why it's so important to get
tested. A prostate cancer screening includes a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test
to determine your risk of cancer. Exams take less than 10 minutes and may save your life!
To schedule a free screening, call the Cancer AnswerLine at 800-65-1125.
Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome. Space is limited. Men who
have not had a PSA test within the past year are eligible.
This event is sponsored by the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center,
Department of Urology, Geriatrics Center and the New Hope Outreach Clinic.
