In 2007, the U-M Cancer Center ranked seventh in the nation in grant funding received from the National Cancer
Institute. Its researchers receive about $79.5 million in grants each year from the National Institutes
of Health and other agencies. The Cancer Center's research portfolio consists
of five Basic Science Research Programs, 11 Clinical Research Programs and two Prevention and Control Research
